Your Dream Depends on Your Choice
I once heard a Native American story about a young boy who was going out on a vision quest. This boy was afraid and went to his chief for reassurance.
He explained to the chief that it felt like he had two dogs fighting inside of him. One of them said that he would not be able to do this task and should not even try. The other was telling him that he could do this and that he would do wonderfully.
He asked the chief for help to know which one would win.
The chief looked him with compassionate eyes and said, “The one who says you can do this will win.”
The young boy looked at him in wonder and asked, “How do you know that?” The chief replied, “Because that is the one you will feed.”
I love that story because it describes how you build your dream. When you go for your dream, you may notice that you have two voices, one that says you can do it and the other that says, “No way!”
How do you know which one will win? The one you feed. You consciously choose to bring your attention to the voice that says you have everything you need to achieve your dream. It doesn’t mean that the other voice goes away, it just means that you are choosing to focus on the voice for Truth, the voice that reminds you of who you really are and what your capabilities are.
Which voice will you listen to? The voice of fear or the voice of Truth? You get to choose and your dream depends on your choice.
Here’s to your dream!
