Judge with righteous judgment!
Lately I have thought about the word “alternative.” To me, that word is synonymous with choice. Life is continuously presenting us with choices. So often I get caught in the rutted patterns of my thoughts that I don’t realize that my opinions, my judgments and even my perceptions are not truths, they are simply choices I make in that moment.
Jesus tells us to judge with righteous judgment. To me that says that I can choose to judge or see differently in any moment. To judge with right judgment requires me to empty my mind of its concrete “truth” and be in the space of not knowing-the space in between the old and the new perceptions. This is where new choices, new directions are possible. I press the pause button and stop the current trajectory of thought in order to entertain other possibilities. I can tell that I am on the right path because I feel lighter as I discover that the thought and imaginings which felt so real moments ago are just that, imaginings. They are illusions that arose from my mistaken belief in separation. As I pause , I get to be different, see different, choose different and create a possibility that has been there all along waiting to emerge from the invisible realm of creation. And it all starts with right judgment.
