What will it cost me not to go forward with my dream?

What will it cost me not to go forward with my dream?

One of the questions most people seem to ask  themselves when considering a dream is, “What is it going to cost me in terms of money, time, energy, affection or what matters most to me if I go forward with this?”

It is the wrong question. The real question to ask is, “What will it cost me not to go forward with my dream?”  Not going for your dream is a decision that has a high cost that you really can only begin to imagine.

Bring your dream to mind right now. Imagine your dream life in all of its beauty and wonder. See yourself living that life.

Now, imagine yourself physically standing up and saying “No” to your dream and walking away from it.

How do you feel inside? Peer into the future and ask your future self who is living your “no” what the cost has been in terms of fulfillment, satisfaction, a sense of wonder and adventure along with the financial, mental and emotional cost.

You don’t say no to your dream in this kind of obvious way but every time you decide to water your desire down or choose for something less than enlivening you effectively say “no” to your dream.

Let yourself really feel the cost of your “no” so you can feel the power and promise in your “yes.” Then, if you are really courageous, make a decision to go for it!
