What do you do with the voice that says you can’t do this?
Bring your biggest, boldest, baddest goal or aspiration to mind right now. What if I told you that you were completely equipped and capable of achieving that and so much more?
You would say in this inspired moment, “Yay, of course I can.”
Then, in those moments when you are alone or something doesn’t go your way, that confidence and belief begins to erode and gets chipped away. Along with every chip, you become less and less committed and more and more distracted and a month, a year, 3 years from now, this moment of “Yay! I can do this” is just a distant memory. You were sooooo committed and just KNEW you could do this! What happened and how do you keep that belief and confidence going so you can keep moving on your big bold dream and actually succeed in the amazing way you really want to?
Luckily, I have an answer for you. I want to share your 2 superpowers and a process to effectively use these superpowers so you can achieve everything you desire.
First super power is your faculty of your imagination. You have this amazing ability to actually create what you see in your mind. You get to choose your pictures. The thing is, you are choosing all of the time and when you start backing away from your desire, you actually use this power to terrorize yourself.
You believe what you see in your imagination. So, to really achieve the thing you really want. You have to first see it in mind before there is any evidence outside to suggest it is true. It is how all major human achievements were accomplished. Think of the Wright Brothers. They had to see that contraption off of the ground before they were willing to get on that machine. And they did it before anyone else did. That took guts just to see it!
Your second super power is that you have this amazing ability to literally feel as if you have already accomplished what you say your really want BEFORE it happens! Right now, you get to generate a feeling of deep gratification, satisfaction and achievement before you even get started.
Now, these 2 elements are critical because what you see and feel become the organizing pattern for your thoughts, decisions and actions. You will only take actions according to what you believe about yourself or your self identity. This then determines the kinds of ideas you will entertain and the opportunities you see.
When you see and feel yourself already accomplished you literally start thinking differently, more creativity and bold. You now have the courage and confidence required to hear new and bold ideas, and act on those ideas in a powerful way expecting success. That changes EVERYTHING!
In this video, I go into more detail and share a process called the “Zipper” to help you build your confidence and belief.
Here it is in a nutshell: Image that you are literally zipping yourself into the skin of this amazing person who did this thing. Then ask your future self what they see, how they feel in any given moment. Ask that future self what he/she did on this day. What actions did they take? What decisions did they make?
Notice as you begin to think from your future self, you will hear very different ideas. You will see opportunities that were always there, you just couldn’t see them thinking in the way you have to this point. Track those ideas and opportunities. Memorize the feeling of achievement and accomplishment you experience when you think about these things.
TAKE THE ACTION! Keep these images and feelings upper most in mind as you take these bold steps and celebrate the micro wins as evidence that you are doing this thing!
Share what your future self shared with you today as you zipped yourself into that person’s skin in the Ultimate Life Facebook group. *If you’re not yet a member, send us a request to join and a member of my team will get you added!
