What is the anatomy of a risk and why would you want to know? We are in the middle of a series looking at why you must be willing to take that risk in order to live your dream.
In the last video, we talked about the necessity of having something that you love in order to be willing to risk what you currently have. You will not leap for a watered down version of your dream.
In this video, we go deeper into the concept of dreaming into something that you love as a necessity to take the risk. I share a way to test your dream to see if you have the necessary heat behind it.
So, let’s test it to see if it is a risk worthy. Here’s a powerful question to test your dream with. Bring your dream to mind right now. See it in your mind’s eye.
When you think about your dream, can you imagine life without it? Can you imagine an alternative? When you do, is there a part of you that feels like it just disappears as your dream disappears? Or are you lukewarm about it?
Hyrum W Smith, who wrote the book, “You are what You Believe” talks about having something that you would be willing to cross a beam for.
Imagine that there is something precious being dangled from up top a building and the only way you can get to it is to cross a 4-inch beam with no net and the wind blowing. You can’t hesitate. Got the picture?
What would you cross that beam for?
Of course, we immediately think of our children our loved one possibly even our pets as those things that would take us across that beam.
Is your dream that important? Do you have something so powerful that you would be willing to cross the beam for it? That is the first place to start. What are you willing to cross the beam for? Can you let yourself dream that intensely? Here’s what I want you to know, you must have something that means this much to you to be willing to take that risk.
