The nature of faith
Do you ever notice where you place your faith? I was driving down a busy road in our community this past week realizing that the only thing separating me and oncoming traffic was a thin yellow line. Every day that I get behind the wheel, I place my faith in the other drivers trusting that they will stay on their side of the road. Think about it, we all place our faith in others trusting that we will all follow the traffic laws. We do it automatically without thought.
Then I realized that we follow traffic laws out of self preservation. There is something about doing something because we believe our survival depends on it. So what if we begin to have faith in the goodness of God and each other as a form of self preservation? What if instead of doubting and expecting the worse, we realized that the quality of our lives, in fact our very survival, depended on our ability to believe in God as our infinite source of abundance? If we saw it in each other as well and realized that our lives depended on seeing it in each other, life as we know it may actually change dramatically. Just a thought!
