I Was Mesmerized

I Was Mesmerized

Recently, when my husband and I were on a bike ride out in the desert, we got a bit confused about where we were on the trail. We pulled over under a palo verde tree for shade. It is spring, so the tree was alive with flowers.

As I sat waiting for Michael to figure out where we were, I became mesmerized.

All around me was a constant buzz. I looked up and saw dozens of bees busily landing on the blossoms, taking in the pollen those flowers were offering and heading to the next blossom.

It was truly a sight to behold.

As I watched the bees gather the pollen, I realized that it was not a one way street. The flowers weren’t just giving pollen, they were receiving a gift from the bee as well.

Quick science lesson on how flowers keep growing.

(Stay with me, this matters to you.)

In order for flowers to multiply, they have to pollinate. One of the ways they do this is by having bees land on them to gather their pollen. When the bee lands on that flower, they drop some of the pollen from other flowers thereby creating the opportunity for the hosting flower to create more seeds which leads to more flowers.

In order to survive, the flower HAS to give its pollen and receive new pollen from other sources to make baby seeds and multiply.

So, what does this science lesson have to you?

Here is what I know about you. You are this amazing heart centered being deeply committed to making an impact by giving your gifts and talents to those around you.

What I also know is that it may be difficult for you to really let yourself be supported and receive gifts from others.

It may feel noble to be a giver and selfish to be a receiver.

If we can take a lesson from the flowers and realize that in order to really give your gifts and make your impact, you HAVE to be willing to receive the encouragement, the help and the support from others.

Nobody does it alone and the Universe delights in bringing you the support and resources you need to truly make the impact you are meant to make. You just have to be willing to open your arms and receive that goodness.

Look around. Where is the Universe offering amazing help that you may not see or may be  dismissing? Open up and allow yourself to receive the support from Universal Intelligence. Say yes to all that Life seeks to bring you so you can make the difference you are here to make as you create a life you love!

Here’s to letting yourself receive the good,
