9/18/13 – Weekly Words of Wealth – Honest with Myself
Recently, I heard my teacher, Bob Proctor, say something so simple yet so profound that I had to share it with you. He said, “When I got honest with myself, everything changed!”
We live in a world of qualifiers and rose colored glasses. Now, I know this probably sounds strange coming from me, the champion of positive thinking. But, sometimes we believe that thinking positively means not being honest about the facts.
I can’t change something unless I know it is a problem. I have to be willing to look at my life, and my current results square in the face in order to first of all, realize that I don’t like the way things are and then to imagine and pursue something better. Then, I have to take stock of the distance between where I am and where I want to be before I can effectively move forward.
This week, take time and be honest with yourself. Really take note of your current results and your level of satisfaction with them. Identify those areas that you want to change, get clear in your mind what you want to create and then get busy! The first step in any real transformation is honesty.
Here’s to being honest with yourself,
