2/18/15 – Weekly Words of Wealth – Good Habits = Good Results
Lately, I have thought about my habits. As you know by reading my blog posts and watching my videos, I am deeply committed to helping others live their dream life as I live mine. One lesson that really stands out from my teachers is the importance of cultivating the right habits that match the dream I am creating.
I love the way that Og Mandino, author of the classic Greatest Salesman in the World puts it when he says, “In truth, the only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the difference of their habits. Good habits are the key to all successes. Bad habits are the unlocked door to failure. Thus, the first law I will obey, which precedeth all others is-I will form good habits and become their slave.”
The question that this quote then triggers is, “What are the good habits to which I want to be a slave? What are the habits of the man or woman living my dream?”
One habit I know for sure is that the successful woman in my dream spends time envisioning herself living at her new level of possibility. There has been so much research that shows how successful people have clear visions. This means that they take time to formulate a vision, refine that vision and develop a self-image that matches the man or woman living in the vision.
I know for myself, I have a habit of writing out my vision in the morning and in the evening. I then spend time mentally rehearsing my vision while infusing it with the emotions of gratitude and confidence.
The habit of visioning then informs my actions for the day. The woman living at the level of success I see in my vision takes very specific daily actions which then leads to very specific daily results which then leads to my overall results of success and abundance. The results of my life are a perfect reflection of my habits.
This week, spend time thinking about the habits your successful self cultivates. What is one habit that you know as you adopt would be a game changer in the way you live your dream life? Then make a decision for that habit and begin it today.
Share with me your new habits that match your new dream life. Share them below or Facebook page so we can all be inspired. And of course, share this with those you love to help them develop new, empowering habits.
Here’s to being a slave to good habits!
