This week we continue with our study of Napoleon Hill’s secrets to success with his comments on persistence. He names persistence as his eighth step toward riches and success.
He says, “Persistence is an essential factor in the procedure of transmuting DESIRE into its monetary (or anything you desire) equivalent. The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL!”
Persistence is the act of going forward no matter what. Once we make a decision for a dream, we focus the power of our will on our images and desires and persistently take action each day.
Hill goes on to say, “The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat. If you find yourself lacking in persistence, this weakness may be remedied by building a stronger fire under your desire.”
Do you find yourself lagging in persistence? Go back to your vision and ask yourself again, Do I love this?” Keep working with it until your answer is a resounding “YES!” Then, notice how your fire to keep going grows.
Hill says, “THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTION FOR PERSISTENCE. WITH PERSISTENCE, YOU WIN!”
This week, notice where you have persisted and celebrate that. Then notice where you have lagged in persistence and ask what can you do to refocus your will and energy on creating the life that you love!
Here’s to your persistence!
